The following resolution of solidarity was read aloud today at General Assembly for Occupy Denver.
__
Resolution of solidarity and support for Occupy Denver and the Occupy movement nationally from Colorado Move to Amend, Denver Metro Move to Amend, and Boulder Move to Amend as Representing the Interests of the American People
The Steering Committee of Move to Amend in Colorado unanimously and publicly declares its support for Occupy Denver and other Occupy Together efforts to secure legal, economic and social justice for the 99% in Colorado through peaceful, nonviolent actions; and Colorado Move to Amend urges its members to do so as well, especially in stepping up efforts to restore a government of, by, and for the People, and to bring an end to Corporate Rule in these United States. __
". . . . corporations have no consciences, no beliefs, no feelings, no thoughts, no desires. Corporations help structure and facilitate the activities of human beings, to be sure, and their “personhood” often serves as a useful legal fiction. But they are not themselves members of “We the People” by whom and for whom our Constitution was established." -- Justice Stevens, in dissent, in Citizens United v. FEC. 1/21/2010
